Analysis of the influence of nonlinear-interaction factors on the amplification of signals of different frequencies in O-type TWTs
Abstract
Calculation results are given for the effect of spectral components of the transit angle, its derivative, and the higher field components of the slow-wave structure and space charge on the two-signal amplitude and phase characteristics of an O-type traveling wave tube. The phase trajectories of electrons in the O-type TWT in the case of a two-frequency input signal are presented. It is concluded that even with the consideration of a large number of interaction factors the proposed method can be implemented on a medium-scale computer with acceptable expenditures of machine time and acceptable accuracy.
