Investigation of a plane phased array of piezotransducers with a one-lobe directivity pattern
Abstract
Experimental results are presented which demonstrate that it is possible to construct plane phased arrays of piezotransducers with a one-lobe directivity pattern, operating on a solid-state acoustic line. The device comprises relatively thick (up to 1 mm) buffer layers made of materials whose sound velocities differ slightly and whose acoustic impedances are close to the impedance of the acoustic line; the phase character of each buffer is linear. The characteristics of the array are measured using an acoustooptic deflector.
