Analysis of wave structure in a symmetric delay-deflecting system with two-pin leads
Abstract
An analysis is made of the wave structure and conditions for small signal distortions in a TWT delay-deflecting system (DDS) with two-pin leads. It is shown that, as in the case of a system with three-pin leads, it is possible to establish in a two-pin system a regime in which the signal can be reproduced without distortions caused by wave structure in the DDS. In order to achieve this, the internal impedances of the two arms of the signal source and of the two arms of the DDS must be strictly equal, and the load impedance of the DDS must be equal to twice the odd wave impedance.
