High-stability balanced parametric amplifier with two idle circuits
Abstract
Relationships are obtained for the complex analysis of the characteristics of a balanced semiconductor parametric amplifier with two idle circuits in the operating-frequency band. The relation between circuit and diode parameters is established which assures zero sensitivity of the amplitude-frequency characteristics (AFC) to changes in diode capacitance. It is shown experimentally that the stability of the AFC increases by more than an order of magnitude as the diode capacitance and the pumping freqeuncy vary. It is concluded that the results obtained demonstrate the possibility of constructing broadband parametric amplifiers with stable characteristics in a wide temperature range without the use of temperature stabilization and automatic control of the pump-generator parameters.
