Investigation of the duration of a multichannel sequential procedure of signal detection
Abstract
A number of exact and asymptotically exact formulas are obtained for the duration distribution and for the mean duration of a multichannel sequential procedure (MSP) in the case when the statistics formed in different channels of the multichannel system are independent. The derived formulas can be used to investigate the dependence of MSP duration characteristics on the probability of erroneous solutions, and to analyze MSP efficiency as compared with a procedure of fixed duration.
