The effect of a screen on the operation of travelingwave ring antennas
Abstract
The screen effect is investigated by solving the diffraction problem involving the excitation of a conducting disk by a travelingwave ring current. Integral equations with respect to projections of the surface current are derived and solved. Results of calculations (performed using a FORTRAN program based on an iterative algorithm) of the surface current and directivity characteristics are given in the case when the ring length is equal to the wavelength.
