Evaluating the effectiveness of using adaptive algorithms in communication lines with fading
Abstract
A method is proposed for evaluating the maximum gain in noise immunity obtainable by using an adaptive algorithm in lines with fading where the probability laws governing the distribution of communication channel parameters are unknown. As an example, the efficiency limit is estimated for an adaptive line with fading in which the signal base varies in reverse proportion to the channel transmission coefficient. Expressions are obtained which make it possible to estimate the gain in signal power achieved in adaptive lines in comparison with nonadaptive lines for the case of amplitude manipulation.
