Analysis of the temperature stability of the frequency of a SAW oscillator
Abstract
The temperature stability of an oscillator with a SAW delay line is analyzed. It is shown that the frequency stability depends significantly on the temperature coefficient of delay in the acoustic line, the character of SAW dispersion, and the choice of operating frequency of the oscillator in the passband of the amplitude-frequency characteristic of the delay line. Experimental results on the frequency stability of SAW oscillators with an operating frequency of about 400 MHz are presented, and recommendations on improving the temperature stability of such oscillators are made.
