Statistical characteristics of signals in composite TWT amplifiers in the case of modulating noise
Abstract
A functional mathematical model of a composite pulsed TWT amplifier is developed which makes it possible to evaluate the intrapulse noise modulation of composite signals with allowance for the weak complex nonlinearity of the amplifier modules. This model, using the method of statistical tests, was employed to determine the characteristics of signals in the case of modulating noise for various amplifier designs. Numerical results are presented, and it is shown that distortions decrease as the number of channels increases, with the characteristics of the nonlinear model approaching the characteristics of the linear model.
