Electromagnetic waves in a doubly periodic array of circular longitudinally magnetized ferrite rods
Abstract
The Galerkin method is used to obtain a solution to the problem of the natural modes of a doubly periodic array of longitudinally magnetized rods. An algorithm is developed which makes it possible to determine the characteristics of the natural modes with an accuracy sufficient for practical engineering calculations and to analyze the modal makeup of such structures. The efficiency of this algorithm is evaluated numerically by calculating the propagation constants of the lower (slow, fast, and damped) natural modes of the structure. The convergence of the solution and the dynamics of the wavenumbers are analyzed in relation to the geometric parameters of the array and the real parameters of the ferrite medium.
