Diagnostics of faulty elements of a phased-array antenna by the focusing method
Abstract
The paper analyzes the resolving power of the focusing convolution method, which is an effective algorithm for the diagnostics of currents on an antenna according to near-field measurements. The relationship between this resolving power and the weighting function of the required number of near-field measurements is investigated. The effect of the vector character of the near field is evaluated, and the role of the measurement step and the dependence of the number of measurements on the distance to the antenna are assessed. The choice of the optimal position of the near-field measurement plane is considered.
