Resonance nonreciprocal effects during wave propagation in layered gyrotropic media and periodic structures with gyrotropic filling
Abstract
A numerical analysis is presented of the reflection of an extraordinary plane wave in a gyrotropc medium from an imperfectly conducting comb and the passage of this wave through a transparent metallic grating. It is shown that under certain conditions losses in the comb and the transparence of the grating depend strongly on the direction of wave arrival (the nonreciprocal energy effect). A comparison is made with the case of reflection from a smooth imperfectly conducting surface situated beneath the interface of isotropic and gyrotropic media. It is shown that in this case the nonreciprocal effect is much weaker.
