Investigation of the effects of interaction of surface magnetostatic waves with slow electromagnetic waves
Abstract
An experimental study is presented on the amplitude-frequency response curve of a device consisting of a meander-type stripline slow-wave structure and an epitaxial YIG film. Strong distortions of the amplitude-frequency response curve are disclosed when an external magnetic field is applied tangentially to the film surface. It is shown that these distortions are caused by the resonant interaction of a slow electromagnetic wave in the slow-wave structure with surface magnetostatic waves in the YIG film. The utilization of this interaction in the design of various types of microwave devices is noted.
