The dielectric properties of liquids in the submillimeter range
Abstract
Studies on liquid dielectrics in the submillimeter-wave range are reviewed. The correlation functions and memory functions for the investigation of these properties are briefly described along with experimental methods (using interferometers, lasers, and backward wave tubes) for the investigation of complex permittivity. Theoretical models for the interaction of submillimeter waves with polar and nonpolar liquids and solutions are examined, and data on the dielectric and optical constants of a number of liquids are discussed.
