A study of flow in a short cavity with one-way fluid inlet and outlet
Abstract
A flow visualization technique and a three-dimensional model are used to investigate the characteristics of flow in a closed cavity with one-way fluid inlet and outlet. It is shown that stalled flow is formed inside the cavity wherein three characteristic regions are identified. The flow structure within these regions is shown to depend on the geometrical and hydraulic parameters of the incoming jet.
