Notes on the stationary vortex motions of a continuum
Abstract
A general equations describing changes in a solenoidal vector field corresponding to the magnetic field intensity in magnetohydrodynamics and to the vortex vector of barotropic flows of an ideal fluid is reduced to the Eulerian equation for the momentum change, with the equation of continuity taken into account. The topology of stationary barotropic flows of a nonviscous compressible fluid is then investigated using the above approach.
