Dynamic properties of gravitational fields
Abstract
By applying a theory that makes it possible to individualize points in the Riemannian space and by introducing appropriate frames of reference for the gravitational field in classical general relativity, expressions are obtained for the field energy density and for the field energy-momentum tensor. The field energy density is treated as a four-dimensional scalar, rather than a pseudo-scalar, and the field energy-momentum tensor is in the form of a second-rank tensor, rather than a pseudo-tensor. The results obtained are valid for all types of empty Riemannian space in accordance with the classifications of Petrov (1950, 1966), Penrose (1960), and Newman (1962).
