Production and physics of highly charged ions; Proceedings of the International Symposium, Stockholm, Sweden, June 1-5, 1982
Abstract
The symposium covered a wide range of problems related to highly charged ions, including ion sources, new experimental techniques, spectroscopy, astrophysics, fusion, electron-ion collisions, and ion-atom collisions. Papers were presented on the electron-beam method of production of highly charged ions and its application, charge creation and reset mechanisms in an ion guide isotope separator, multi-charged ion spectroscopy, and interactions of multiply charged ions with solids. Other papers included reactions of doubly charged ions at near thermal energies, empirical state-selection rules for electron capture in low-energy-atom collisions, and excited states created in charge transfer collisions between atoms and highly charged ions.
