Latent heat of the SU(3) gauge theory
Abstract
We present a Monte Carlo calculation of the latent heat of the SU (3) gauge theory at its finite-temperature confinement transition. The observation that the pressure must be continuous allows great simplification. We argue that our result, (1.89+/-0.09) GeV/fm3, is unaffected by finite lattice corrections.
