Switched-capacitor sampled-data networks with communication applications
Abstract
Synthesis techniques for the realization of switched-capacitor filters (SCF's) as well as oscillators (SCO's) were developed. The proposed techniques are shown to yield realizations which have attractive features in comparison with presently available realizations. Direct synthesis procedures for the switched-capacitor filter is obtained from the transfer function is s-variable. It is shown that, by using the mixed transformation, a second order filter design of better approximation and less frequency warping is obtained. The switched-capacitor oscillators are discussed. A class of oscillation for multiphase sinewave generation is proposed. In the design, a sequence discreminator (SD) is used which provides a set of sinusoids with equally spaced phase angle and equal magnitude. Applying the SC technique to the oscillator design has several advantages in addition to the circuit being suitable for integration.
