Electron Cyclotron Emission (ECE) measurements on the TORTUR 3 Tokamak
Abstract
The TORTUR 3 Tokamak temperature profiles with turbulent heating pulses were determined using the second harmonic of the electron cyclotron emission (ECE) spectrum. Several groups of accelerated electrons were observed in the first msec of the discharge and during turbulent heating. Polarization measurements yield the ratio of ordinary and extraordinary mode of emission, and the reflection coefficient of TORTUR 3 at the position of the ECE antenna. Electron density was determined using the presence of a cut-off layer in the plasma.
