Heteroresonator high-current magnetron
Abstract
Preliminary results of an experimental study of a high-current heteroresonator magnetron (HCHM) are presented. Two types of resonant systems were studied: a closed system with an axially varying field and a semiopen system without the axial variation. The microwave power is determined as a function of the magnetic induction for these two systems for an electrode gap of 10 mm; and the axial distribution of the RF field in the magnetron is studied for the two systems. The results indicate that the HCHM is a promising device with respect to its high microwave power and efficiency.
