Stability of a flow of an ideal incompressible fluid of constant vorticity in an elliptic cylinder
Abstract
An analysis is made of the hydrodynamic stability, with respect to perturbations of the general kind, of a flow of an ideal incompressible fluid of constant vorticity inside an elliptic cylinder. Stability conditions are obtained using the method of successive approximations. The results are compared with the results of an analysis based on the Galerkin method.
