Theory of waves in the shear flows of an inhomogeneous compressible fluid
Abstract
The Hamiltonian approach is used to analyze the wave pattern in an inhomogeneous compressible fluid in the presence of shear flows. Dispersion relationships in this system are examined for the example of a flow with a piecewise-continuous velocity profile. Both qualitative and numerical analyses of the dispersion equation are carried out.
