Hubble's unknown-type variables in M 33 are cepheids.
Abstract
The variable objects V14, 15, 21, 32, and 45 in M33, all with periods that were studied but not defined by Hubble, were reexamined. The objects were confirmed to be Cepheids from their light curves, although no successful determination was made of the V15 period. The 51 (or 52) known Cepheids in M33 therefore have periods ranging from 3.23-74.88 d. Period-luminosity relations for the M33 Cepheids demonstrate the similarity with other Cepheids.
