Investigations of the thermophysical properties of matter under conditions of electron heating
Abstract
The experience gained from using electron heating to investigate the thermophysical properties of matter is summarized. Attention is given to the phenomena that determine the character and extent of the energy transfer from the electron beam to the target. The way in which the design of a heating system reflects the intended use is discussed, with attention also given to the operating conditions of the system. Errors in measurements taken under electron bombardment are analyzed, and ways are suggested for eliminating or allowing for these errors.
