Remark on the nature of the eruptive object LW Cassiopeiae.
Abstract
Since the outburst of 1952/1953 no further eruption seems to have been occurred. The fan-shaped nebular appendix to the east of the star is a gas nebula of low excitation. The star itself shows neither emission nor absorption lines in poorly exposed spectrograms. The possibility that this is an FU Ori type star after a recurrent outburst is shortly discussed.
