Scattering and absorption of slow particles by a black hole
Abstract
The paper examines the scattering and absorption of electrons and scalar particles in KerrNewman fields with an eventhorizon radius that is less than the particle wavelength. Attention is given to the absorption of particles by the event horizon which determines polarization phenomena in the case of electron scattering. Corrections to the differential scattering cross sections are obtained along with expressions for the total absorption cross sections. The general formulas are used to examine analogous processes involving neutrinos.
