Radio reception by the phase-quantization method with prior frequency conversion

The possibility of using the method of phase quantization for receiving radio signals at low and extremely low frequencies is discussed. An experiment is reported in which weak 1-kHz signals were detected by means of a parametric phase quantizer after converting the signals to the 1 MHz frequency using an annular modulator. The experimental results testify to the practicability of the proposed method.
