Galaktische Gammastrahlung und das interstellare Medium.
Abstract
Diffuse gamma radiation (energy between 70 and 5000 MeV) measured by COS-B satellites was analyzed. The instrumental properties of the COS-B gamma telescope and their effects on the measurements are discussed. Measured and simulated data are compared in order to predict diffuse gamma radiation. The medium gamma spectrum in the galactic plane is shown to be constant in first approximation. The distribution of the diffuse gamma emission in the galactic anticenter is determined. For the investigation of local gamma emission the atlasses of galactic dark nebulae of Lynds and of Khavtassi are used. The main contribution to diffuse gamma radiation is found to come from gas correlated to interstellar dust, and not from molecular hydrogen concentrated in the most massive molecular clouds.
