Microelectronic devices for the shaping and processing of complex signals
Abstract
The work examines the design of optimal and suboptimal devices for the shaping and demodulation of complex signals in digital communications systems operating in a complex environment comprising fadings, noise, and lumped and pulsed interference. Attention is given to the principles governing the implementation of such devices on a microelectronic base (e.g., with a high level of integration) with particular application to three classes of complex signals: parallel, sequential, and sequential-parallel. The shaping and demodulation of complex PSK signals are examined along with the design of digital and analog units of complex-signal shapers and demodulators.
