The excitation of electromagnetic waves /2nd revised and enlarged edition/
Abstract
The theory of electromagneticwave excitation by lateral electric and magnetic currents, both in free space and in the presence of various bodies, is developed. General theorems and principles in electromagneticfield theory are formulated, and the properties of electromagnetic waves are analyzed. Particular consideration is given to the excitation of a plane interface, an infinite circular cylinder, a sphere, an infinite ideally conducting wedge, surface waves, an elliptical cylinder, waveguides, bulk resonators, and periodic antenna arrays. Numerical results are given for a number of problems.
