The excitation of electromagnetic waves /2nd revised and enlarged edition/
Abstract
The theory of electromagnetic-wave excitation by lateral electric and magnetic currents, both in free space and in the presence of various bodies, is developed. General theorems and principles in electromagnetic-field theory are formulated, and the properties of electromagnetic waves are analyzed. Particular consideration is given to the excitation of a plane interface, an infinite circular cylinder, a sphere, an infinite ideally conducting wedge, surface waves, an elliptical cylinder, waveguides, bulk resonators, and periodic antenna arrays. Numerical results are given for a number of problems.
