The interaction of shock waves with disturbances
Abstract
The interaction of shock waves with inhomogeneities of two types, acoustic waves and entropy inhomogeneities, is treated. An analysis is made of the nonstationary reflection of plane shock waves from a curved wall. Experimental investigations of the interaction of shock waves with acoustic and eddy disturbances, the propagation of shock waves through an inhomogeneous gas at rest, and the reflection of a shock wave from rigid bodies are described.
