Approximate numerical solution of eddy currents in an outer-vessel of cryostat in superconducting levitation system
Abstract
To study the effects of cryostats in a superconducting levitation system, an approximate model of a cryostat is considered. An approximate analysis of the eddy currents in an outer vessel, resolving them into three components such as 'steady', 'damping', and 'stiffness' currents is performed. Numerical data are analyzed to determine the current distribution dependence of the system parameters such as velocity, frequency of heave motion, and outer vessel thickness.
