Application of S. K. Godunov's method for solving the problem of quasi-one-dimensional gas flow with a shock wave
Abstract
On the basis of the method, a difference scheme and an algorithm are constructed for studying the motion of a shock wave front. The difference scheme is tested by comparing the analytical results with those obtained by the Chisnell-Whitham method for the problem of the motion of a shock wave in a channel of variable cross section and with the solution of the fundamental problem of internal ballistics, obtained by the method of characteristics for a conical chamber. Using data from the literature, experimental results obtained for a ballistic compressor with a conical segment are compared with computation results from the present difference scheme.
