Diagrammes structuraux et liaison chimique dans les composés ANB10- N
Abstract
The Mooser-Pearson diagram, the Simmons-St-John-Bloch diagram, and the Zunger-Cohen diagram, drawn for ANB10- N compounds, are compared. The best results are obtained by using the Simmons-St-John-Bloch diagram, where each crystalline structure is localized within the limits of characteristic zones of the map. On the basis of this diagram, a description of the chemical bonding taking account of the three main kinds of bonding, ionic, covalent, and metallic, is proposed. The consideration of the metallic bonding type—in the sense of a spatial electronic delocalization—concurrently with that of ionic and covalent types is necessary for a coherent description of all the crystalline structures displayed by ANB10- N family compounds.
