X-Ray Diffuse Scattering in Wolffram’s Red Salt
Abstract
X-ray diffuse scattering passing through (00 L+1/2) and extended perpendicularly to the \mbi{c}*-direction is observed in the ground state of the Wolffram’s red salt at room temperature. The chain structure -Pt4+-Cl-Pt2+-Cl- is confirmed, however, it is not long range. The short range correlation shows the one-dimensional character.
