An analysis of heat transfer during film condensation of stationary vapor on a vertical surface
Abstract
The available theoretical relationships describing heat transfer during film condensation of vapor on a vertical surface are examined together with theoretical data obtained over a wide range of Reynolds numbers. Particular attention is given to the case of wave and turbulent flows of the condensate. A scheme based on a three-layer turbulent transport model is used to calculate heat transfer in the case of mixed flow regimes of the film, i.e. regimes comprising laminar, wave, and turbulent flows.
