Heat transfer during the film boiling of liquids under conditions of free convection
Abstract
Heat transfer from vertical cylindrical surfaces is analyzed for stationary and nonstationary regimes of nitrogen and hydrogen cooling. It is shown that heat transfer is self-similar with respect to the liquid coolant underheating over a wide underheating range. The results of the study are generalized in the form of an empirical heat transfer expression for the case of cooling with liquid nitrogen and hydrogen.
