A boundary layer with selective suction
Abstract
By applying an asymptotic theory for a turbulent boundary layer, expressions are obtained for the relative heat and mass transfer coefficients for a boundary layer with porous suction of one of the components of a binary heterogeneous mixture. The limiting value of the permeability parameter is determined, and it is shown that asymptotic conditions (i.e., when the heat and mass transfer function is equal to the permeability parameter) cannot be achieved in the case of nonuniform suction. The heat transfer data obtained are compared with the available experimental data on the condensation of heterogeneous vapor-gas mixtures.
