Non-linear distortion analysis in frequency division multi-access satellite communication systems
Abstract
General analytical procedures are formulated for the prediction of crossmodulation and intermodulation products arising between any number of carriers applied at a TWT(FET) amplifier input which is operating at or near saturation. It is noted that this kind of problem often appears in situations in which a number of signals are frequency-division multiplexed through TWT(FET) amplifiers with hard/soft limiting characteristics. These analytical prcedures are shown to be a useful tool for analyzing nonlinear products in a satellite communication system having several carriers which pass through a transponder simultaneously, where limiting action in the transponder occurs when several signals are frequency-division multiplexed.
