Microwave automatic impedance measuring schemes using three fixed probes
Abstract
It is pointed out that multiple-fixed probes mounted on a waveguide or a transmission line have been often used to measure the complex impedance of an unknown microwave load. Hu (1980) has reported a novel approach to the design of multiple-probe high-power microwave automatic impedance measuring schemes. The present investigation extends Hu's earlier work and provides a description of a simplified and improved design derived from the general theory. Attention is given to aspects of theory, design details, calibration, the conducted experiments, and a step-frequency scheme.
