Defining and implementing a multilevel design representation with simulation applications
Abstract
The definition and implementation of a multilevel representation which includes the system behavior level of representation is described. Information for the representation is generated by the CMU-DA synthesis system. Methods of establishing a multilevel representation appropriate for this system are examined and a particular approach is defined, emphasizing links between common features in both the structural and behavioral parts of each design representation. A program that implements a simplified version of this multilevel representation is described along with an application routine that uses the multiple representation to measure information in the complete design and relates it back to the behavioral description.
