Rotational symmetries of electromagnetic radiation fields
Abstract
Maxwell's equations and their solutions have been examined from the point of view of the full rotation group. Two mapping theorems have been derived which give the rotational symmetries of the radiated electric and magnetic and Poynting's vector field as a function of the symmetries of the electric current density which acts as the radiating source.
