Synthesised signal generator - A design example
Abstract
Design opportunities presently available for producing a state of the art synthesizer are described. An X-band synthesizer configuration for generators extending over the 2-26.5 GHz range with fundamental oscillators and over 10 MHz-2 GHz with a heterodyning technique is discussed in terms of its application to the locking of a microwave oscillator, the design of a 200 MHz oscillator, and a low-frequency synthesizer. Information on how synthesizer design can be extended to millimetric frequencies is included.
