Intermodulation spectra for 2-carrier-level SCPC system
Abstract
A simple general computational procedure for the prediction of the carrier-to-intermodulation ratio in a two-carrier SCPC satellite system for any arbitrary number of carriers with arbitrary amplitude levels, is presented. The satellite amplifier is assumed to be a memoryless bandpass amplifier with amplitude nonlinearity and with AM/PM conversion. An algorithm which can be used as a basis for a computer program is discussed. Computation using pocket calculators is considered possible if the described procedure is combined with the techniques for calculating coefficients of the instantaneous in-phase and quadrature nonlinearities.
