Supernova remnants and their X-ray emission : symposium no. 101, held in Venice, Italy, 30 August-2 September 1982
Abstract
X-ray, optical, and radio observations of supernova remnants (SNRs) and theoretical models designed to account for them are presented, with an emphasis on data obtained with the Einstein Observatory. Topics discussed include young SNRs; middle-aged and older SNRs; center-filled morphologies; old SNRs and the heating of the interstellar medium; compact objects associated with SNRs, pulsars, and neutron stars; and SNRs in other galaxies. A catalog of Galactic SNRs is provided in an appendix.
