Infrared Object near XB 1812-12
Abstract
K. Kodaira, Mauna Kea Observatory, reports detection of an infrared object of K = 7.0 (J-K = +2.6, H-K = +0.8, K-L = +0.6) at R.A. = 18h12m19s, Decl. = -12deg04'2 (equinox 1950.0), close to the center of the Hakucho and Uhuru error boxes for the x-ray burster XB 1812-12. The object, which is a few seconds of arc across, is thought to be the core of a heavily reddened globular cluster in the galactic bulge containing the x-ray burster.
