Integral method for evaluating the behavior in the main zone of a low-swirl turbulent jet
Abstract
The integral method is used to analyze the properties of the flow in the main zone of a slightly swirled turbulent incompressible jet. Previously-reported universal velocity distributions are used in this analysis. Two groups of simple analytical functions for dimensionless maximum velocities, containing only a single empirical constant, are derived by two approaches. The results fit empirical data reported in the literature.
