Modes of propagation in slot line with layered substrate containing magnetised ferrite
Abstract
Using the singular integral approach, the dispersion characteristics of the slot line on a multilayered substrate containing a gyromagnetic medium are calculated. The media used were air, dielectric, and magnetized ferrite. The influence of magnetic loss on mode attenuation was studied. Dynamic modes and slow waves can propagate in the line; the fundamental dynamic mode shows nonreciprocal attenuation in the line, which is weakly affected by magnetic loss of the ferrite. The magnetic loss had a stronger effect on slow waves, which were less attenuated than dynamic modes.
